Our week at the Cabin

We had a full week of visiting and adventure. Marshmallow roasts in the evenings...

And Mini-golf at the Beach Hut...

Some fun at the beach...

And of course, the boys had to have water gun fights (they're shooting Alex).

We went to Cartwright to play the 9-hole course. Brodie loved driving the cart and putting on the greens.

The girls recieved a lot of hugs when they came to join us.

Ashley was full of smiles.

The week went well and we're happy to be home.

10th Anniversary

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on Friday. Alex planned a wonderful family day followed by an evening out on our own. It was great. You can see us enjoying a picnic (prep by Alex) at Assiniboine park. It was great to enjoy the kids while we had a leisurely walk through the zoo, and cuddle the girls after the picnic lunch.

Today we're packing up to go stay at my Grandpa's cabin for the week. Hoping for HOT weather.

Have a great day.

Good days!

We are having some very good days. The weather is perfect in my opinion, we even enjoy the rainy, windy days when we can wrap up in a blanket and enjoy the crazy weather from the porch. Ashley is soooo smiley and rather demanding in her attention seeking, which is requiring me to adapt my expectations of her. I've started to realize that paying some attention to her when she demands it, can stop a whole afternoon of 'irritating moaning'. She doesn't care about my schedule and I think she might actually get bored sometimes! It's a fun switch that has happened and it's time for me to adapt. Even as I type this, she is 'calling' me from her bedroom, "naptime is over Mommy!". I better be quick.

Hope is having an unusual day today, with a lot of half smiles and quite a few little noises. We aren't decreasing the meds anymore because the seizures became too intense. She's usually pretty relaxed and 'blank', or just sleepy looking.

For the Physiotherapy appointment this week, the girls were both awake, which is a bonus that seldom happens. Our physiotherapist had wonderful things to say about the girls which was very encouraging, since I never feel like I do enough with them. It's exciting to see an 'observers' view of the progress, because I rarely notice any improvement.
Here are some pics from the physiotherapy appointment this week...

Some birthday pics

Thank you so much to everyone who commented on the slideshow (both here and by email and in person). It is touching and supportive to know that you care to see how things are going. Here are some pics of the party. We had a sign of course...

And Hopey had to have a bath and get her hair done (she slept through it)...

And Great-Grandma Neufeld got there first for cuddles...

And next came Grandma Allen and Great-Grandma Lil (G.G).

And here you see the only photo I got with her eyes open...

It was a wonderful day.
