Ashley and Hope were born with Adenylosuccinate Lyase Deficiency. This metabolic disorder left them with a damaged brain resulting in seizures and profound psychomotor delay. They were not expected to live past infancy. Although they were palliative care, we kept them at home to love and hold. Ashley died on March 18th,2011 (6yrs old) and Hope followed her home on August 14th, 2011 (4yrs old). We now continue our journey as a 'Family of Four'.

Awesome photo - looks like starving refugees (ha ha jk). Those "no big deal, non-staged photos" are always my favourite. I have one of Rhéal holding his 35th birthday cake (decorated with Smarties) with all the kids gathered around him (I was pregnant with Joël and Nathalie was only a "twinkle in my eye") on an extremely windy day in the back of the truck out in the field. It is my all-time absolute favourite picture. Enjoy those ordinary every day moments that is LIFE.
Cute picture!
