Purple

Have I ever mentioned that I picked favorite colours for my girls?  I decided they needed to have a colour, so Ashley liked pink and Hope liked purple.  For Ashley's funeral, Alex wore a pink shirt for Ashley.  For Hope's funeral he is going to wear purple.  He's a great Dad!

Anyway, it occured to me (with the help of a friend), that others might want to join in the purple fun.  So, I'm letting you know that you are welcome to wear a bit of purple for Hope when you come celebrate her life with us.  Anything purple is fine...a purple article of clothing, purple flower, whatever you choose is quite alright for Hope's celebration of life ceremony.  And if you have nothing, don't worry...we'll still let you in the church...te he!

So the funeral will be at 1 pm on Thursday with internment following immediately afterward with just close family. Family and friends will be invited to the hall immediately after the funeral mass for a reception (roughly 2 pm).  We'll ask everyone to go directly into the hall after the funeral so that you can watch the slideshow and have some food.  We'll be going to the cemetary with close family and return fairly quickly, since the graveside service is short and St. Vital cemetary is close by.  We'll look forward to mingling when we return, and hopefully won't miss too many people.

I love the color purple! It's my girls favorite although I had picked pink for Georgia and there was a sea of it at her funeral. Mike still wears his pink shirt to work sometimes remembering his little girl. : )

Thinking of both of you, Jolene and Alex. Having to face a second loss in such a short time takes a lot of courage and faith. I'm impressed by your faith in God, your many friends and yourself. This great faith that you have will carry you through these tough times.

Our sympathies

I saw the obit today in the paper and felt deep sadness and wanted to learn more about this disorder. I searched in Google to find really nothing. So I searched your name in Google and came across this site. I have read all your Blog postings and am so encouraged by your POSITIVE view of all your trials. You are truly loving parents and your girls were so precious and also so tough despite what they went through. So sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers will linger with your family for a long time!

I heard of your family's journey through a friend on fb (Janelle S), found your blog and cried along with you. I will not even begin to imagine all the emotions you must be feeling right now. I am sending love, hugs, and prayers your way to fellow "family" - we have the same Father. May the Peace, Comfort, Love & Joy of the Holy Spirit enfold you today, tomorrow, and in the days ahead.

Thank you for sharing Jolene and we are thinking of you today and always. Also, I think it is very special that Ashley had pink and Hope had purple, I have the same for my two girls- Aurelie is Ms. Pink and Hannah is Ms. Purple (makes laundry easier)- Now I will think of Ashely & Hope whenever I am dressing them. Sending hugs your way- Lorraine & Family
